How to Install Fins For your freein paddle board Correctly👌
Stand up paddleboard fins are an essential part of your paddleboard. Without fins your board would start to turn radically with every stroke, making the whole paddling unstable.
Fins allows you to move forward in a relatively straight line, or “track”. They prevent the tail of the board from slipping sideways as you put pressure on either side of the board as you go through your stroke.
Freein paddle boards comes equipped with various fin boxes. The different design of the fin also affects speed, stability and how easily you can turn your board.
Your fin should fit tightly into the fin box.However, most people have a tough first time installing their fin.
In fact, most fin losses are due to incorrect installation methods.
So we’re going to give you a simple step-by-step guide for help you secure your fin.
- Fin01
- Place the knobby side into the slot and slide it to frontend of box.
- Put down the tail of fin base into the BOX until the tail align with the box (the lever will pop upward)
- Push the lever down until you hear a snap
- Fin02
Insert fin, from first then lower into place until flush against bottom of fin clamp. Slide pin in hole to hold fin securely.
Note: The two fixed side fins may become curved or mi-shaped due during storage and shipping. This is not a defect and the fins will gradually regain their normal shape.
- Fin03
- Align the metal pillar on the fin into slot and slide it to rear of fin box
- Put down the entire fin base
- Align the screw hole on the fin with the hole in the box
- Tighten the screw on the screw hose
- Fin04
- Slide the fin all the way to back of the fin box
- Insert the retention pin through slot to secure the fin
- Correct fin installation
- Fin05
- Align the metal pillar on the fin into slot and slide it to frontend of box.
- Put down the entire fin base
- Tighten the screw into the box
